- Discuss with the patient different ways he/she may be supported to make this choice (funds, transport, childcare).
- Suggest he/she focuss on the opinions of others who matter most.
- Suggest he/she complete the Ottawa Personal Decision Guide and share it with others.
- Suggest the patient ask others involved to complete the guide.
- Suggest the patient find a neutral person to help him/her.
